Associate Animator
The Role:
As a member of the Animation team, you bring inanimate objects to life through classic animation principles. With strong creativity, you’ll make our cards dance, jump, and twist in ways that tell their story.Working closely with the art team, you’ll be responsible for bringing our cards to life with expression that clearly conveys their role in our story. Having a strong grasp of Unity and a strong technical aptitude, you will use
your knowledge and skills for taking animations from Maya into Unity. As well as utilizing our proprietary avfx system to implement your animations in game.
Responsibilities:
- Produce vibrant and exciting new animations for our card game
- Collaborate in a cross-disciplinary environment in the creation of in-game content
- Work with internal developers in ideating and troubleshoot animations
- Working with proprietary tools in Unity to develop in-game animation sets for new assets
- 1+ years of game development Experience
- Adept knowledge of Maya
- Advanced knowledge and experience in Unity
- Understand body mechanics, acting, posing and storytelling techniques
- Understand physical motion, weight, balance, texture, form, and all other animation principles
- Strong technical aptitude
- Excellence in collaboration and communication
- Mobile game development experience
- Ability to animate organic and hard surface assets
- Shipped a new IP
- Worked on a project from inception through completion
- Broad knowledge of Strategy Card games
- Strong sense of game design and gameplay
- Strong sense of action and timing in animation
- Isometric camera game development experience

The Legal Bits:
- In Compliance with local US law, we are disclosing compensation for this role. The range listed is just one component of Koin’s total compensation package, which may also include bonuses and LTI or other program specific awards. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for geographic differentials.
- We offer competitive pay based on market standards plus a significant bonus structure. The base salary for this role is between $55,000 to $77,000, depending on skills and experience. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall throughout the range based on these factors.
- This role is full-time, exempt and will be fully remote
- The ability to work core hours on Pacific time is required
- Global , non-US candidates will be considered only on a contract basis
