We are looking for an amazing Senior Visual Effects Artist with expert level Unity game  development experience to create effects for our collectable card game. In this totally  remote role, you’ll design and implement a variety of visual effects to deliver a visually  impressive, fun, functional and engaging player experience.

What you’ll do:
• Create gorgeous stylized and playful VFX for use with 3D characters, cards, and user interface
 • Astound players with your mastery of sprites, shaders and particle systems  
• Work with Engineers, Animators, Designers & Tech Artists to achieve visual excellence  
• Work directly with the team on issues of readability, polish and affordance  
• Maintain current knowledge of VFX developments in games and other media  
• Help Mentor our Junior VFX Artists
• Create highly stylized visual effects

Required Qualifications  
• 6+ years of professional game development experience  
• 4+ years of experience developing VFX with Unity or comparable VFX software  
• Ability to dream up something visually stunning from just a conversation or a sketch
• Ability to clearly convey ideas through storyboards
• Impeccable timing for hand-crafted VFX
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical parties
• Attention to detail, meticulous and organized working habits • Excellent troubleshooting skills to address technically challenging tasks  
• Expert knowledge of job-related tools and software (Unity, Houdini, Photoshop, After Effects, Maya, etc.)

Bonus Points for any of these:
• Experience working on AAA or AA-quality games, ideally for PC or mobile.
• Ability to thrive in a remote work environment with excellent time management and communication skills.
• Active interest in AI and Blockchain

The Legal Bits:
In Compliance with local US law, we are disclosing compensation for this role. The range listed is just one component  of Koin’s total compensation package, which may also include bonuses and LTI or other program specific awards. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for geographic differentials.
• We offer competitive pay based on market standards. The base salary for this role is between $36,000 to $60,000 USD, depending on skills and experience. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall throughout the range based on these factors.
This is a temp to hire contract role, and will be fully remote
• The ability to work core hours on Pacific time is required
• All candidates will be considered on a contract basis only
